- OVERVIEW

This week, we explore how God has done everything possible to save humanity, yet many still reject Him. The Bible reveals His persistent efforts to reach people, demonstrating His justice, love, and mercy. Even when people turn away, God does not give up on them. We will study how Christ’s life and sacrifice prove that God could do nothing more to show His love.

- SATURDAY – Introduction

- Memory Text

John 18:37
KJV 37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. CEV 37 “So you are a king,” Pilate replied. “You are saying that I am a king,” Jesus told him. “I was born into this world to tell about the truth. And everyone who belongs to the truth knows my voice.”

- Lesson

A children’s story once told of a boy named Denis, who hated the king because he thought he was cruel. Only later did he learn that the king had acted out of love to protect his people from disease. Many people view God this way, misunderstanding His actions as cruel, when in reality, He works for our good.

Jesus came to show us the truth about God. Though evil and suffering remain, the Cross assures us that God is trustworthy and has done all He can to save us.

- EGW Notes (Paraphrased)

Ellen White explains that Jesus never concealed the truth. His life and teachings revealed God’s love and justice.

- Conclusion

Though we may not understand everything, Jesus' life and death prove God’s goodness.

- SUNDAY – Christ the Victor

- Lesson

Read the following:

Jesus declared that He came to testify to the truth. Throughout His ministry, He countered Satan’s lies and revealed God’s justice and love. The Bible describes Satan as:

  • The deceiver – Revelation 12:9
KJV 9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. CEV 9 and were thrown down to the earth. Yes, that old snake and his angels were thrown out of heaven! That snake, who fools everyone on earth, is known as the devil and Satan.

  • The accuser – Revelation 12:10
KJV 10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. CEV 10 Then I heard a voice from heaven shout, “Our God has shown his saving power, and his kingdom has come! God's own Chosen One has shown his authority. Satan accused our people in the presence of God day and night. Now he has been thrown out!

  • The ruler of this world – John 12:31
KJV 31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. CEV 31 This world's people are now being judged, and the ruler of this world is already being thrown out!

Yet, through His life and death, Jesus defeated Satan’s claims. The Cross reveals God’s righteousness and love, proving that Satan’s accusations are false.

- EGW Notes (Paraphrased)

Ellen White explains that by dying for humanity, Jesus exposed Satan as a murderer and proved God’s justice.

- Conclusion

Though Satan still fights, his defeat is certain. Jesus has overcome the enemy.

- MONDAY – The Just and the Justifier

- Lesson

Read the following:

Romans 3:23-26
KJV 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. CEV 23 All of us have sinned and fallen short of God's glory. 24 But God treats us much better than we deserve, and because of Christ Jesus, he freely accepts us and sets us free from our sins. 25-26 God sent Christ to be our sacrifice. Christ offered his life's blood, so by faith in him we could come to God. And God did this to show that in the past he was right to be patient and forgive sinners. This also shows that God is right when he accepts people who have faith in Jesus.

Romans 5:8
KJV 8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. CEV 8 But God showed how much he loved us by having Christ die for us, even though we were sinful.

The Bible teaches that all have sinned, but through Christ’s sacrifice, God is both just and merciful. Satan accused God of being unfair, but the Cross demonstrates that God’s justice and love work together.

By willingly dying for humanity, Jesus disproved Satan’s claims and provided a way for sinners to be redeemed.

- EGW Notes (Paraphrased)

Ellen White explains that the Cross was necessary to fully reveal God’s righteousness and offer salvation to all.

- Conclusion

God did not ignore sin, but paid the price for it Himself.

- Reflection

- TUESDAY – The Rejection of Truth

- Lesson

Read the following:

John 3:19-21
KJV 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. CEV 19 The light has come into the world, and people who do evil things are judged guilty because they love the dark more than the light. 20 People who do evil hate the light and won't come to the light, because it clearly shows what they have done. 21 But everyone who lives by the truth will come to the light, because they want others to know that God is really the one doing what they do.

Isaiah 5:1-4
KJV 1 Now will I sing to my wellbeloved a song of my beloved touching his vineyard. My wellbeloved hath a vineyard in a very fruitful hill: 2 And he fenced it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also made a winepress therein: and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes. 3 And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem, and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard. 4 What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes? CEV The Lord said: 1 I will sing a song about my friend's vineyard that was on the side of a fertile hill. 2 My friend dug the ground, removed the stones, and planted the best vines. He built a watchtower and dug a pit in rocky ground for pressing the grapes. He hoped they would be sweet, but bitter grapes were all it produced. 3 Listen, people of Jerusalem and of Judah! You be the judge of me and my vineyard. 4 What more could I have done for my vineyard? I hoped for sweet grapes, but bitter grapes were all that grew.

Jesus explained that many reject the truth because they prefer darkness to light. Isaiah 5 uses the parable of a vineyard, showing how God did everything possible for His people, yet they rejected Him.

God does not force anyone to follow Him. He offers love, truth, and salvation, but many turn away because they desire their own way.

- EGW Notes (Paraphrased)

Ellen White explains that God offers salvation to all, but He does not force anyone to accept it.

- Conclusion

God will not override human freedom. He has done everything possible to draw people to Him.

- WEDNESDAY – A Just Yet Merciful God

- Lesson

Read the following:

Matthew 23:37-38
KJV 37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! 38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. CEV (Luke 13.
34,35) 37 Jerusalem, Jerusalem! Your people have killed the prophets and have stoned the messengers who were sent to you. I have often wanted to gather your people, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings. But you wouldn't let me. 38 And now your temple will be deserted.

Hosea 11:7-8
KJV 7 And my people are bent to backsliding from me: though they called them to the most High, none at all would exalt him. 8 How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? how shall I deliver thee, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah? how shall I set thee as Zeboim? mine heart is turned within me, my repentings are kindled together. CEV 7 My people are determined to reject me for a god they think is stronger, but he can't help. 8 Israel, I can't let you go. I can't give you up. How could I possibly destroy you as I did the towns of Admah and Zeboiim? I just can't do it. My feelings for you are much too strong.

Jesus lamented over Jerusalem’s rejection, showing God’s deep sorrow when people turn away. Hosea describes how God’s heart longs for His people, even when they persist in rebellion.

God is not quick to punish. He pleads with people to return to Him, but when they refuse, judgment must come.

- EGW Notes (Paraphrased)

Ellen White explains that God patiently calls sinners, but He will not force salvation on those who reject Him.

- Conclusion

Though God is merciful, He does not ignore justice. Those who reject Him must face the results of their choices.

Will you choose for the Lord to make you prosperous and give you a long life? Or will he put you under a curse and kill you? Choose life!

Revelation 3:20 describes Jesus standing at the door and knocking, waiting for people to open their hearts to Him. Deuteronomy 30 presents a choice between life and death, urging people to choose life.

God’s greatest desire is for all to be saved, but He does not force anyone. His final appeal is for people to turn to Him before it’s too late.
