In the Psalms - Part 2

OVERVIEW
This week we explore Psalms that give us courage, joy, and trust in God. Whether in trouble or celebration, the psalmists teach us to turn to God. We learn that God is our safe place, that Jesus will rule over all enemies, and that our joy is found in praising His name. The Psalms also point us to the cross and to the mission to tell the world about His salvation.
SATURDAY - Introduction
Memory Text
Psalm 67:3-4
KJV
3 Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.
4 O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah.
CEV
3 Make everyone praise you and shout your praises.
4 Let the nations celebrate with joyful songs, because you judge fairly and guide all nations.
Read the following:
Psalm 67:1-7
KJV
1 God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah.
2 That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations.
3 Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.
4 O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah.
5 Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.
6 Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.
7 God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.
CEV
(A psalm and a song for the music leader. Use with stringed instruments.)
1 Our God, be kind and bless us! Be pleased and smile.
2 Then everyone on earth will learn to follow you, and all nations will see your power to save us.
3 Make everyone praise you and shout your praises.
4 Let the nations celebrate with joyful songs, because you judge fairly and guide all nations.
5 Make everyone praise you, God, and shout your praises.
6 Our God has blessed the earth with a wonderful harvest!
7 Pray for his blessings to continue and for everyone on earth to worship our God.
Psalm 46:1

1 God is our mighty fortress, always ready to help in times of trouble.
Psalm 2:6-9
[ Coments ]
KJV
6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
7 I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
CEV
6 “I've put my king on Zion, my sacred hill.”
7 I will tell the promise that the Lord made to me: “You are my son, because today I have become your father.
8 Ask me for the nations, and every nation on earth will belong to you.
9 You will smash them with an iron rod and shatter them like dishes of clay.”
Summary
The Psalms speak to every part of life — joy, pain, questions, and praise. This week, we’ll see how the Psalms show us that God is with us in trouble, rules over all, and deserves our joyful praise. We will also see glimpses of Jesus in the Psalms — in His suffering, in His victory, and in His mission.
When we read these songs and prayers, we learn how to trust God more deeply. The Psalms invite us to make worship, honesty, and hope a part of our everyday walk with Him.
EGW Notes (Paraphrased)
Ellen White tells us that the Psalms were written with the Spirit of Christ in them. Many were spoken in His name or about Him. Jesus is present in the cries for help, the songs of praise, and the promises of justice. The Psalms help us keep our eyes on Jesus no matter what is happening.
Reflection
How do the Psalms help you grow closer to Jesus?
Why do the Psalms speak to so many situations in life?
SUNDAY - A Very Present Help in the Time of Trouble
Read the following:
Psalm 46:1-3
KJV
1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
CEV
(A special song by the clan of Korah and for the music leader.)
1 God is our mighty fortress, always ready to help in times of trouble.
2 And so, we won't be afraid! Let the earth tremble and the mountains tumble into the deepest sea.
3 Let the ocean roar and foam, and its raging waves shake the mountains.
Psalm 46:10-11
KJV
10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
CEV
10 Our God says, “Calm down, and learn that I am God! All nations on earth will honor me.”
11 The Lord All-Powerful is with us. The God of Jacob is our fortress.
Psalm 91:1-4
KJV
1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
CEV
1 Live under the protection of God Most High and stay in the shadow of God All-Powerful.
2 Then you will say to the Lord, “You are my fortress, my place of safety; you are my God, and I trust you.”
3 The Lord will keep you safe from secret traps and deadly diseases.
4 He will spread his wings over you and keep you secure. His faithfulness is like a shield or a city wall.
Psalm 23:4
KJV
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
CEV
4 I may walk through valleys as dark as death, but I won't be afraid. You are with me, and your shepherd's rod makes me feel safe.
Summary
Psalm 46
says, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” When life feels like it’s falling apart, we don’t have to be afraid. God is with us, and He is our safe place. He doesn’t promise that trouble won’t come — but He promises that we won’t be alone.
KJV
1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.
5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.
6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.
7 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
8 Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth.
9 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.
10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
CEV
(A special song by the clan of Korah and for the music leader.)

2 And so, we won't be afraid! Let the earth tremble and the mountains tumble into the deepest sea.
3 Let the ocean roar and foam, and its raging waves shake the mountains.
4 A river and its streams bring joy to the city, which is the sacred home of God Most High.
5 God is in that city, and it won't be shaken. He will help it at dawn.
6 Nations rage! Kingdoms fall! But at the voice of God the earth itself melts.
7 The Lord All-Powerful is with us. The God of Jacob is our fortress.
8 Come! See the fearsome things the Lord has done on earth.
9 God brings wars to an end all over the world. He breaks the arrows, shatters the spears, and burns the shields.
10 Our God says, “Calm down, and learn that I am God! All nations on earth will honor me.”
11 The Lord All-Powerful is with us. The God of Jacob is our fortress.
Even when the earth shakes or waters roar, we can say, “Be still, and know that I am God.” He is in control, and He fights for His people.
EGW Notes (Paraphrased)
Ellen White says that when we feel overwhelmed, we can find rest in God. He is our refuge in every storm. Just like the Psalmist trusted God’s presence in danger, we can too. The safest place is to be with God, no matter what is happening.

MONDAY - Hope Amid Turmoil
Read the following:
Psalm 42:1-11
KJV
1 As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.
2 My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?
3 My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?
4 When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.
5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.
6 O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar.
7 Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.
8 Yet the Lord will command his lovingkindness in the day time, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.
9 I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
10 As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God?
11 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
CEV
BOOK II(Psalms 42–72)(A special psalm by the clan of Korah and for the music leader.)
1 As a deer gets thirsty for streams of water, I truly am thirsty for you, my God.
2 In my heart, I am thirsty for you, the living God. When will I see your face?
3 Day and night my tears are my only food, as everyone keeps asking, “Where is your God?”
4 Sorrow floods my heart, when I remember leading the worshipers to your house. I can still hear them shout their joyful praises.
5 Why am I discouraged? Why am I restless? I should trust you, Lord. I will praise you again because you help me,
6 and you are my God. I am deeply discouraged, and so I think about you here where the Jordan begins at Mount Hermon and at Mount Mizar.
7 Your vicious waves have swept over me like an angry ocean or a roaring waterfall.
8 Every day, you are kind, and at night you give me a song as my prayer to you, the God of my life.
9 You are my mighty rock. Why have you forgotten me? Why must enemies mistreat me and make me sad?
10 Even my bones are in pain, while all day long my enemies sneer and ask, “Where is your God?”
11 Why am I discouraged? Why am I restless? I trust you, Lord! And I will praise you again because you help me, and you are my God.
Psalm 43:1-5
KJV
1 Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.
2 For thou art the God of my strength: why dost thou cast me off? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
3 O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.
4 Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God.
5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
CEV
1 Show that I am right, God! Defend me against everyone who doesn't know you; rescue me from each of those deceitful liars.
2 I run to you for protection. Why do you turn me away? Why must enemies mistreat me and make me sad?
3 Send your light and your truth to guide me. Let them lead me to your house on your sacred mountain.
4 Then I will worship at your altar because you make me joyful. You are my God, and I will praise you. Yes, I will praise you as I play my harp.
5 Why am I discouraged? Why am I restless? I trust you, Lord! And I will praise you again because you help me, and you are my God.
Psalm 13:1-6
KJV
1 How long wilt thou forget me, O Lord? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?
2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?
3 Consider and hear me, O Lord my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;
4 Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.
5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.
6 I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.
CEV
(A psalm by David for the music leader.)
1 How much longer, Lord, will you forget about me? Will it be forever? How long will you hide?
2 How long must I be confused and miserable all day? How long will my enemies keep beating me down?
3 Please listen, Lord God, and answer my prayers. Make my eyes sparkle again, or else I will fall into the sleep of death.
4 My enemies will say, “Now we've won!” They will be greatly pleased when I am defeated.
5 I trust your love, and I feel like celebrating because you rescued me.
6 You have been good to me, Lord, and I will sing about you.
Psalm 130:1-8
KJV
1 Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O Lord.
2 Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.
3 If thou, Lord, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?
4 But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.
5 I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.
6 My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.
7 Let Israel hope in the Lord: for with the Lord there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.
8 And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.
CEV
(A song for worship.)
1 From a sea of troubles I cry out to you, Lord.
2 Won't you please listen as I beg for mercy?
3 If you kept record of our sins, no one could last long.
4 But you forgive us, and so we will worship you.
5 With all my heart, I am waiting, Lord, for you! I trust your promises.
6 I wait for you more eagerly than a soldier on guard duty waits for the dawn. Yes, I wait more eagerly than a soldier on guard duty waits for the dawn.
7 Israel, trust the Lord! God is always merciful and has the power to save you.
8 Israel, the Lord will save you from all your sins.
Summary
When life feels hard and confusing, the Psalms remind us to keep hoping in God. Psalm 42
shows someone who is very sad and asking, “Why are you cast down, O my soul?” But even while crying, they choose to trust God and say, “Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him.”
KJV
1 As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.

God understands our feelings. The Psalms teach us that it’s okay to ask questions, to feel pain — and still trust that God is good. He gives us hope, even in the middle of our sorrow.
EGW Notes (Paraphrased)
Ellen White says that faith means trusting God even when we don’t see or feel the answer yet. We may be discouraged or tired, but when we remember God’s promises, our hope comes back. That is what the Psalms teach us.

Why is it important to praise God even when we feel sad?
TUESDAY - Under His Feet
Read the following:
Psalm 110:1
KJV
1 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
CEV
(A psalm by David.)
1 The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right side, until I make your enemies into a footstool for you.”
1 Corinthians 15:24-28
KJV
24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
CEV
24 Then after Christ has destroyed all powers and forces, the end will come, and he will give the kingdom to God the Father.
25 Christ will rule until he puts all his enemies under his power,
26 and the last enemy he destroys will be death.
27 When the Scriptures say he will put everything under his power, they don't include God. It was God who put everything under the power of Christ.
28 After everything is under the power of God's Son, he will put himself under the power of God, who put everything under his Son's power. Then God will mean everything to everyone.
Hebrews 10:12-13
KJV
12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.
CEV
12 But Christ offered himself as a sacrifice that is good forever. Now he is sitting at God's right side,
13 and he will stay there until his enemies are put under his power.
Ephesians 1:20-23
KJV
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
CEV
20 when he raised Christ from death and let him sit at his right side in heaven.
21 There Christ rules over all forces, authorities, powers, and rulers. He rules over all beings in this world and will rule in the future world as well.
22 God has put all things under the power of Christ, and for the good of the church he has made him the head of everything.
23 The church is the body of Christ and is filled with Christ who completely fills everything.
Summary
Psalm 110
says that God will put all enemies under Jesus’ feet. This means that Jesus will win over sin, death, and evil. Even though we still see trouble in the world now, God promises that Jesus is already reigning and will finish what He started.
KJV
1 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
2 The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.
3 Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.
4 The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.
5 The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath.
6 He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries.
7 He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head.
CEV
(A psalm by David.)
1 The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right side, until I make your enemies into a footstool for you.”
2 The Lord will let your power reach out from Zion, and you will rule over your enemies.
3 Your glorious power will be seen on the day you begin to rule. You will wear the sacred robes and shine like the morning sun in all of your strength.
4 The Lord has made a promise that will never be broken: “You will be a priest forever, just like Melchizedek.”
5 The Lord is at your right side, and when he gets angry he will crush the other kings.
6 He will judge the nations and crack their skulls, leaving piles of dead bodies all over the earth.
7 He will drink from any stream that he chooses, while winning victory after victory.
God has given Jesus all authority. One day soon, everything will be made right. The Psalms remind us that the victory has already begun — and we get to be part of that story.
EGW Notes (Paraphrased)
Ellen White reminds us that Jesus sits at God's right hand, ruling now and preparing to return. Every power of evil will be destroyed. This is our hope — that Jesus will soon be King over all.
Reflection
What does it mean that Jesus’ enemies will be “under His feet”?
How does knowing Jesus is already ruling give you peace?
WEDNESDAY - Wine and Blood
Read the following:
Psalm 22:14
KJV
14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.
CEV
14 I have no more strength than a few drops of water. All my bones are out of joint; my heart is like melted wax.
Matthew 26:26-28
KJV
26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;
28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
CEV
(Mark 14.

26 During the meal Jesus took some bread in his hands. He blessed the bread and broke it. Then he gave it to his disciples and said, “Take this and eat it. This is my body.”
27 Jesus picked up a cup of wine and gave thanks to God. He then gave it to his disciples and said, “Take this and drink it.
28 This is my blood, and with it God makes his agreement with you. It will be poured out, so that many people will have their sins forgiven.
John 19:34
KJV
34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.
CEV

Luke 22:20
KJV

CEV
20 After the meal he took another cup of wine in his hands. Then he said, “This is my blood. It is poured out for you, and with it God makes his new agreement.
Summary
Psalm 22
is a deep look into Jesus’ suffering on the cross. He says, “I am poured out like water.” This reminds us of the blood and water that came from His side when He died. At the Last Supper, Jesus used wine to represent His blood — given for us.
KJV
1 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?
2 O my God, I cry in the day time, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.
3 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.
4 Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.
5 They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.
6 But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.
7 All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,
8 He trusted on the Lord that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.
9 But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts.
10 I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother's belly.
11 Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.
12 Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.
13 They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion.
14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.
15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.
16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.
17 I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.
18 They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.
19 But be not thou far from me, O Lord: O my strength, haste thee to help me.
20 Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog.
21 Save me from the lion's mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns.
22 I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.
23 Ye that fear the Lord, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel.
24 For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.
25 My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him.
26 The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the Lord that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.
27 All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the Lord: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.
28 For the kingdom is the Lord's: and he is the governor among the nations.
29 All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul.
30 A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.
31 They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this.
CEV
(A psalm by David for the music leader. To the tune “A Deer at Dawn.” )
1 My God, my God, why have you deserted me? Why are you so far away? Won't you listen to my groans and come to my rescue?
2 I cry out day and night, but you don't answer, and I can never rest.
3 Yet you are the holy God, ruling from your throne and praised by Israel.
4 Our ancestors trusted you, and you rescued them.
5 When they cried out for help, you saved them, and you did not let them down when they depended on you.
6 But I am merely a worm, far less than human, and I am hated and rejected by people everywhere.
7 Everyone who sees me makes fun and sneers. They shake their heads,
8 and say, “Trust the Lord! If you are his favorite, let him protect you and keep you safe.”
9 You, Lord, brought me safely through birth, and you protected me when I was a baby at my mother's breast.
10 From the day I was born, I have been in your care, and from the time of my birth, you have been my God.
11 Don't stay far off when I am in trouble with no one to help me.
12 Enemies are all around like a herd of wild bulls. Powerful bulls from Bashan are everywhere.
13 My enemies are like lions roaring and attacking with jaws open wide.
14 I have no more strength than a few drops of water. All my bones are out of joint; my heart is like melted wax.
15 My strength has dried up like a broken clay pot, and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth. You, God, have left me to die in the dirt.
16 Brutal enemies attack me like a pack of dogs, tearing at my hands and my feet.
17 I can count all my bones, and my enemies just stare and sneer at me.
18 They took my clothes and gambled for them.
19 Don't stay far away, Lord! My strength comes from you, so hurry and help.
20 Rescue me from enemy swords and save me from those dogs.
21 Don't let lions eat me. You rescued me from the horns of wild bulls,
22 and when your people meet, I will praise you, Lord.
23 All who worship the Lord, now praise him! You belong to Jacob's family and to the people of Israel, so fear and honor the Lord!
24 The Lord doesn't hate or despise the helpless in all of their troubles. When I cried out, he listened and did not turn away.
25 When your people meet, you will fill my heart with your praises, Lord, and everyone will see me keep my promises to you.
26 The poor will eat and be full, and all who worship you will be thankful and live in hope.
27 Everyone on this earth will remember you, Lord. People all over the world will turn and worship you,
28 because you are in control, the ruler of all nations.
29 All who are rich and have more than enough will bow down to you, Lord. Even those who are dying and almost in the grave will come and bow down.
30 In the future, everyone will worship and learn about you, our Lord.
31 People not yet born will be told, “The Lord has saved us!”
These symbols help us remember the cost of our salvation. The Psalms, written long before Jesus came, already pointed to His great sacrifice and love.

shows the pain Jesus felt for us. He was not only hurting physically but felt separated from the Father. Still, He trusted and finished the work to save us.

4 O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah.
5 Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.

Matthew 28:19-20
KJV
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
CEV
19 Go to the people of all nations and make them my disciples. Baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
20 and teach them to do everything I have told you. I will be with you always, even until the end of the world.
Isaiah 52:7-10
KJV
7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!
8 Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the Lord shall bring again Zion.
9 Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the Lord hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem.
10 The Lord hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.
CEV
7 What a beautiful sight! On the mountains a messenger announces to Jerusalem, “Good news! You're saved. There will be peace. Your God is now King.”
8 Everyone on guard duty, sing and celebrate! Look! You can see the Lord returning to Zion.
9 Jerusalem, rise from the ruins! Join in the singing. The Lord has given comfort to his people; he comes to your rescue.
10 The Lord has shown all nations his mighty strength; now everyone will see the saving power of our God.
Revelation 14:6-7
KJV
6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
CEV
6 I saw another angel. This one was flying across the sky and had the eternal good news to announce to the people of every race, tribe, language, and nation on earth.
7 The angel shouted, “Worship and honor God! The time has come for him to judge everyone. Kneel down before the one who created heaven and earth, the oceans, and every stream.”
Summary
Psalm 67
is a call for all nations to know God and rejoice. It says, “That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations.” This is the mission — to share God’s goodness with everyone.
KJV
1 God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah.
2 That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations.
3 Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.

5 Make everyone praise you, God, and shout your praises.
6 Our God has blessed the earth with a wonderful harvest!
7 Pray for his blessings to continue and for everyone on earth to worship our God.
The psalmist prays that all people would praise God and be glad. When we live with joy, speak of His salvation, and share His Word, we help others come to know Him.

FRIDAY - Further Thought
Read the following:
Psalm 96
KJV
1 O sing unto the Lord a new song: sing unto the Lord, all the earth.
2 Sing unto the Lord, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day.
3 Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people.
4 For the Lord is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods.
5 For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the Lord made the heavens.
6 Honour and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.
7 Give unto the Lord, O ye kindreds of the people, give unto the Lord glory and strength.
8 Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come into his courts.
9 O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.
10 Say among the heathen that the Lord reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously.
11 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof.
12 Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice
13 Before the Lord: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.
CEV
1 Sing a new song to the Lord! Everyone on this earth, sing praises to the Lord,
2 sing and praise his name. Day after day announce, “The Lord has saved us!”
3 Tell every nation on earth, “The Lord is wonderful and does marvelous things!

Summary

God calls us to praise Him and share His name with the world. As we read the Psalms, our hearts are lifted to heaven, and our faith is strengthened for today.
EGW Notes (Paraphrased)
Ellen White says that when we truly know God, we will praise Him. The Psalms help prepare us to live joyfully, even in hard times, and to share the gospel. Their message is for every heart.
