LESSON SUMMARY
Sharing Jesus through love
Share Him

OVERVIEW
Jesus calls every believer to share the good news with others. Witnessing is not limited to preachers or Bible workers. It is the natural result of a growing relationship with Christ. As His love fills our hearts, it overflows into our words, actions, and relationships. This week we will learn that witnessing is not about pressure or arguments but about allowing God's love to shine through our lives.
SATURDAY – Introduction
Memory Text
Isaiah 50:4
KJV
4 The Lord God hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.
CEV
4 The Lord God gives me the right words to encourage the weary. Each morning he awakens me eager to learn his teaching;
Lesson
Our words and actions influence people around us, often more than we realise. A careless word or an angry attitude can damage our witness, while kindness and love can open hearts to God.
Jesus calls His followers to represent Him wherever they go. We never know who may be watching our lives or how God may use a simple act of kindness to draw someone closer to Himself.
Sharing Jesus is not something reserved for special occasions. Every conversation, every action, and every relationship can become an opportunity to reveal His character.
EGW Notes (Paraphrased)
Ellen White explains that every person has an influence for good or evil. The power of a Christlike life often speaks more loudly than sermons.
God desires His people to reveal the spirit of Jesus through unselfish love, kindness, and holy living. As we walk closely with Him, our lives become a blessing to others.
Conclusion
People may forget our words, but they often remember the spirit in which those words were spoken.
Reflection
How do your words and actions affect those around you?
Why is a Christlike spirit important when sharing our faith?
SUNDAY – Out of the Overflow
Lesson
Jesus commissioned His followers to share the gospel with the whole world – Matthew 28:18-20
..Making disciples is not the work of only a few people but the responsibility of every believer.
KJV
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
CEV
18 Jesus came to them and said: I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth!
19 Go to the people of all nations and make them my disciples. Baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
20 and teach them to do everything I have told you. I will be with you always, even until the end of the world.
Many people feel uncomfortable when they hear the word "witnessing." They may imagine standing on a street corner preaching or giving complicated Bible studies. Yet true witnessing often begins simply by sharing what Jesus has done in our own lives.
The disciples were ordinary men, but they had spent time with Jesus. Their relationship with Him transformed them and gave them courage to speak.
Read Acts 1:8
and Acts 4:13-20
KJV
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
CEV
8 But the Holy Spirit will come upon you and give you power. Then you will tell everyone about me in Jerusalem, in all Judea, in Samaria, and everywhere in the world.”
KJV
13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
14 And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.
15 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,
16 Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.
17 But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.
18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.
19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.
CEV
13 The officials were amazed to see how brave Peter and John were, and they knew that these two apostles were only ordinary men and not well educated. The officials were certain these men had been with Jesus.
14 But they could not deny what had happened. The man who had been healed was standing there with the apostles.
15 The officials commanded them to leave the council room. Then the officials said to each other,
16 “What can we do with these men? Everyone in Jerusalem knows about this miracle, and we cannot say it didn't happen.
17 But to keep this thing from spreading, we will warn them never again to speak to anyone about the name of Jesus.”
18 So they called the two apostles back in and told them they must never, for any reason, teach anything about the name of Jesus.
19 Peter and John answered, “Do you think God wants us to obey you or to obey him?
20 We cannot keep quiet about what we have seen and heard.”
1. The Holy Spirit Gives Power – Acts 1:8
Jesus promises His followers power through the Holy Spirit so they can be His witnesses.
2. The Leaders Notice Something Different – Acts 4:13
KJV
13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
CEV
13 The officials were amazed to see how brave Peter and John were, and they knew that these two apostles were only ordinary men and not well educated. The officials were certain these men had been with Jesus.
The religious leaders recognise that Peter and John have been with Jesus.
3. The Apostles Are Ordered to Remain Silent – Acts 4:14-18
KJV
14 And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.
15 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,
16 Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.
17 But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.
18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.
CEV
14 But they could not deny what had happened. The man who had been healed was standing there with the apostles.
15 The officials commanded them to leave the council room. Then the officials said to each other,
16 “What can we do with these men? Everyone in Jerusalem knows about this miracle, and we cannot say it didn't happen.
17 But to keep this thing from spreading, we will warn them never again to speak to anyone about the name of Jesus.”
18 So they called the two apostles back in and told them they must never, for any reason, teach anything about the name of Jesus.
Despite opposition, the disciples are commanded not to speak in Jesus' name.
4. They Choose to Obey God – Acts 4:19
KJV
19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
CEV
19 Peter and John answered, “Do you think God wants us to obey you or to obey him?
Peter and John declare that God's authority comes before human authority.
5. They Cannot Keep Silent – Acts 4:20
KJV
20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.
CEV
20 We cannot keep quiet about what we have seen and heard.”
Having experienced Christ personally, they cannot stop sharing what they have seen and heard.
The disciples did not witness because they felt pressured. They witnessed because their hearts were overflowing with gratitude and love for Jesus.
God still calls us to share Him, not through fear, but through a living relationship with Christ – 1 John 4:7-11
..When we know His love, we naturally want others to know Him too.
KJV
7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
CEV
7 My dear friends, we must love each other. Love comes from God, and when we love each other, it shows we have been given new life. We are now God's children, and we know him.
8 God is love, and anyone who doesn't love others has never known him.
9 God showed his love for us when he sent his only Son into the world to give us life.
10 Real love isn't our love for God, but his love for us. God sent his Son to be the sacrifice by which our sins are forgiven.
11 Dear friends, since God loved us this much, we must love each other.
EGW Notes (Paraphrased)
Ellen White explains that witnessing is sharing what we have personally experienced with Jesus. Those who walk closely with Christ will always have something meaningful to say about His goodness and grace.
As we make God first in our lives, He develops spiritual strength and gives us opportunities to point others to Him.
Conclusion
When Jesus fills our hearts, sharing Him becomes natural.
Reflection
Why were Peter and John able to speak so boldly?
What has Jesus done in your life that you can share with others?
MONDAY – Changed by Love
Lesson
When people truly encounter Jesus, their lives begin to change. The gospel does more than give information; it transforms the heart. God's love softens selfishness, changes priorities, and produces a desire to bless others.
One of the greatest examples of transformation is found in the life of the demoniac whom Jesus healed. The man who had once terrified others became a witness for Christ.
This story shows that nobody is beyond the reach of God's grace.
Read Mark 5:1-20
KJV
1 And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.
2 And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,
3 Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:
4 Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.
5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.
6 But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,
7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.
8 For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.
9 And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.
10 And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.
11 Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding.
12 And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.
13 And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand; ) and were choked in the sea.
14 And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done.
15 And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.
16 And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine.
17 And they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts.
18 And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him.
19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.
20 And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.
CEV
(Matthew 8.
28-34; Luke 8.
26-39)
1 Jesus and his disciples crossed Lake Galilee and came to shore near the town of Gerasa.
2 When he was getting out of the boat, a man with an evil spirit quickly ran to him
3 from the graveyard where he had been living. No one was able to tie the man up anymore, not even with a chain.
4 He had often been put in chains and leg irons, but he broke the chains and smashed the leg irons. No one could control him.
5 Night and day he was in the graveyard or on the hills, yelling and cutting himself with stones.
6 When the man saw Jesus in the distance, he ran up to him and knelt down.
7 He shouted, “Jesus, Son of God in heaven, what do you want with me? Promise me in God's name that you won't torture me!”
8 The man said this because Jesus had already told the evil spirit to come out of him.
9 Jesus asked, “What is your name?”The man answered, “My name is Lots, because I have ‘lots’ of evil spirits.”
10 He then begged Jesus not to send them away.
11 Over on the hillside a large herd of pigs was feeding.
12 So the evil spirits begged Jesus, “Send us into those pigs! Let us go into them.”
13 Jesus let them go, and they went out of the man and into the pigs. The whole herd of about 2,000 pigs rushed down the steep bank into the lake and drowned.
14 The men taking care of the pigs ran to the town and the farms to spread the news. Then the people came out to see what had happened.
15 When they came to Jesus, they saw the man who had once been full of demons. He was sitting there with his clothes on and in his right mind, and they were terrified.
16 Everyone who had seen what had happened told about the man and the pigs.
17 Then the people started begging Jesus to leave their part of the country.
18 When Jesus was getting into the boat, the man begged to go with him.
19 But Jesus would not let him. Instead, he said, “Go home to your family and tell them how much the Lord has done for you and how good he has been to you.”
20 The man went away into the region near the ten cities known as Decapolis and began telling everyone how much Jesus had done for him. Everyone who heard what had happened was amazed.
1. Jesus Meets a Tormented Man – Mark 5:1-5
KJV
1 And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.

4 He had often been put in chains and leg irons, but he broke the chains and smashed the leg irons. No one could control him.
5 Night and day he was in the graveyard or on the hills, yelling and cutting himself with stones.
Jesus encounters a man possessed by evil spirits who lives among the tombs and cannot be controlled.
2. Jesus Delivers Him – Mark 5:6-13
KJV
6 But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,
7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.
8 For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.

13 Jesus let them go, and they went out of the man and into the pigs. The whole herd of about 2,000 pigs rushed down the steep bank into the lake and drowned.
The demons recognise Jesus, and Christ frees the man from their power.
3. The People React With Fear – Mark 5:14-17
KJV
14 And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done.
15 And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.
16 And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine.
17 And they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts.
CEV

15 When they came to Jesus, they saw the man who had once been full of demons. He was sitting there with his clothes on and in his right mind, and they were terrified.
16 Everyone who had seen what had happened told about the man and the pigs.
17 Then the people started begging Jesus to leave their part of the country.
Those who witness the miracle become afraid and ask Jesus to leave.
4. The Healed Man Wants to Follow Jesus – Mark 5:18
KJV
18 And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him.
CEV
18 When Jesus was getting into the boat, the man begged to go with him.
Filled with gratitude, he asks to remain with Christ.
5. Jesus Sends Him to Witness – Mark 5:19-20
KJV
19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.
20 And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.
CEV
19 But Jesus would not let him. Instead, he said, “Go home to your family and tell them how much the Lord has done for you and how good he has been to you.”
20 The man went away into the region near the ten cities known as Decapolis and began telling everyone how much Jesus had done for him. Everyone who heard what had happened was amazed.
Jesus tells him to return home and tell others what God has done for him, and many are amazed.
The man wanted to stay with Jesus, but Christ gave him a mission. His transformed life became a testimony that reached many people.
Our witness becomes powerful when people see the difference Jesus has made in our lives – 2 Corinthians 5:17
..Changed lives reveal the power of the gospel.
KJV
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
CEV
17 Anyone who belongs to Christ is a new person. The past is forgotten, and everything is new.
EGW Notes (Paraphrased)
Ellen White explains that the strongest evidence of Christianity is a changed life. People may reject arguments, but they cannot easily ignore a life transformed by God's grace.
Those who have experienced Christ's love become channels through which His blessings flow to others.
Conclusion
The most powerful testimony we have is what Jesus has done in our own lives.
Reflection
Why did Jesus send the healed man back to his home instead of allowing him to travel with Him?
How can a changed life influence others?
TUESDAY – A Compassionate Witness
Lesson
Jesus cared deeply for people. He saw beyond their outward appearance and understood their struggles and needs. His compassion opened hearts and drew people to God.
Witnessing is more than giving information. It involves showing genuine interest, kindness, and concern for others. People are often willing to listen after they know they are loved.
Jesus' ministry demonstrates the importance of compassion.
Read Matthew 9:35-38
KJV
35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;
38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
CEV
35 Jesus went to every town and village. He taught in their synagogues and preached the good news about God's kingdom. Jesus also healed every kind of disease and sickness.
36 When he saw the crowds, he felt sorry for them. They were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
37 He said to his disciples, “A large crop is in the fields, but there are only a few workers.
38 Ask the Lord in charge of the harvest to send out workers to bring it in.”
1. Jesus Ministers Everywhere – Matthew 9:35
KJV
35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
CEV
35 Jesus went to every town and village. He taught in their synagogues and preached the good news about God's kingdom. Jesus also healed every kind of disease and sickness.
Jesus teaches, preaches, and heals throughout the towns and villages.
2. Jesus Sees the Needs of People – Matthew 9:36
KJV
36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
CEV
36 When he saw the crowds, he felt sorry for them. They were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
He is moved with compassion because the people are weary and scattered like sheep without a shepherd.
3. The Harvest Is Great – Matthew 9:37
KJV
37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;
CEV
37 He said to his disciples, “A large crop is in the fields, but there are only a few workers.
Jesus explains that many people are ready to receive help and truth.
4. Workers Are Needed – Matthew 9:38
KJV
38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
CEV
38 Ask the Lord in charge of the harvest to send out workers to bring it in.”
He invites His followers to pray for workers to join in God's work.
Jesus looked at people with compassion rather than criticism. He saw hurting souls who needed hope and salvation.
True witnessing grows out of love – Colossians 3:12-14
..People are more likely to listen when they know we genuinely care about them.
KJV
12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
CEV
12 God loves you and has chosen you as his own special people. So be gentle, kind, humble, meek, and patient.
13 Put up with each other, and forgive anyone who does you wrong, just as Christ has forgiven you.
14 Love is more important than anything else. It is what ties everything completely together.
EGW Notes (Paraphrased)
Ellen White explains that Jesus mingled with people, showed sympathy, ministered to their needs, and won their confidence before inviting them to follow Him.
God calls His people to reveal the same spirit of love and compassion today. Hearts are won more effectively through kindness than through force or criticism.
Conclusion
People need to experience God's love before they are ready to hear His message.
Reflection
Why was Jesus moved with compassion?
How can compassion make our witness more effective?
WEDNESDAY – The Samaritan Woman
Lesson
Jesus often reached people that others ignored. One example is the Samaritan woman at Jacob's well. She came seeking water, but she found something far greater — the Saviour of the world.
What began as a personal conversation became the start of a powerful witness to an entire town.
Read John 4:5-30
KJV
5 Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.
6 Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.
7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.
8 (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)
9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.
10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?
12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?
13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
15 The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.
16 Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.
17 The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:
18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.
19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.
21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.
22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.
26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.
27 And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her?
28 The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,
29 Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?
30 Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.
CEV
5 and on his way he came to the town of Sychar. It was near the field that Jacob had long ago given to his son Joseph.
6-8 The well that Jacob had dug was still there, and Jesus sat down beside it because he was tired from traveling. It was noon, and after Jesus' disciples had gone into town to buy some food, a Samaritan woman came to draw water from the well. Jesus asked her, “Would you please give me a drink of water?”
9 “You are a Jew,” she replied, “and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink of water when Jews and Samaritans won't have anything to do with each other?”
10 Jesus answered, “You don't know what God wants to give you, and you don't know who is asking you for a drink. If you did, you would ask me for the water that gives life.”
11 “Sir,” the woman said, “you don't even have a bucket, and the well is deep. Where are you going to get this life-giving water?
12 Our ancestor Jacob dug this well for us, and his family and animals got water from it. Are you greater than Jacob?”
13 Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will get thirsty again.
14 But no one who drinks the water I give will ever be thirsty again. The water I give will become in that person a flowing fountain that gives eternal life.”
15 The woman replied, “Sir, please give me a drink of that water! Then I won't get thirsty and have to come to this well again.”
16 Jesus told her, “Go and bring your husband.”
17-18 The woman answered, “I don't have a husband.” “That's right,” Jesus replied, “you're telling the truth. You don't have a husband. You have already been married five times, and the man you are now living with isn't your husband.”
19 The woman said, “Sir, I can see that you are a prophet.
20 My ancestors worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews say Jerusalem is the only place to worship.”
21 Jesus said to her: Believe me, the time is coming when you won't worship the Father either on this mountain or in Jerusalem.
22 You Samaritans don't really know the one you worship. But we Jews do know the God we worship, and by using us, God will save the world.
23 But a time is coming, and it is already here! Even now the true worshipers are being led by the Spirit to worship the Father according to the truth. These are the ones the Father is seeking to worship him.
24 God is Spirit, and those who worship God must be led by the Spirit to worship him according to the truth.
25 The woman said, “I know that the Messiah will come. He is the one we call Christ. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.”
26 “I am that one,” Jesus told her, “and I am speaking to you now.”
27 The disciples returned about this time and were surprised to find Jesus talking with a woman. But none of them asked him what he wanted or why he was talking with her.
28 The woman left her water jar and ran back into town, where she said to the people,
29 “Come and see a man who told me everything I have ever done! Could he be the Messiah?”
30 Everyone in town went out to see Jesus.
1. Jesus Meets a Samaritan Woman – John 4:5-9
CEV
5 and on his way he came to the town of Sychar. It was near the field that Jacob had long ago given to his son Joseph.
6-8 The well that Jacob had dug was still there, and Jesus sat down beside it because he was tired from traveling. 9 “You are a Jew,” she replied, “and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink of water when Jews and Samaritans won't have anything to do with each other?”
Jesus asks a Samaritan woman for water, surprising her because Jews and Samaritans usually avoided each other.
2. Jesus Offers Living Water – John 4:10-15
KJV
CEV
He speaks of the gift of eternal life that satisfies the deepest needs of the heart.
3. Jesus Reveals Her Life – John 4:16-19
KJV
16 Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.
17 The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:
18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.
19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
CEV
16 Jesus told her, “Go and bring your husband.”
17-18 The woman answered, “I don't have a husband.” “That's right,” Jesus replied, “you're telling the truth. You don't have a husband. You have already been married five times, and the man you are now living with isn't your husband.”
19 The woman said, “Sir, I can see that you are a prophet.
The woman realises that Jesus knows her past and recognises that He is a prophet.
4. Jesus Reveals Himself as the Messiah – John 4:20-26
KJV
CEV
Jesus explains true worship and declares that He is the promised Messiah.
5. The Woman Shares the Good News – John 4:27-30
KJV
27 And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her?
28 The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,
29 Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?
30 Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.
CEV
27 The disciples returned about this time and were surprised to find Jesus talking with a woman. But none of them asked him what he wanted or why he was talking with her.
28 The woman left her water jar and ran back into town, where she said to the people,
29 “Come and see a man who told me everything I have ever done! Could he be the Messiah?”
30 Everyone in town went out to see Jesus.
Leaving her water pot behind, she hurries into town to tell others about Jesus.
The woman came to draw water, but she left with something far more valuable. Her joy overflowed into witnessing.
When people experience Jesus personally, they naturally want others to know Him – Psalm 107:1-2
..Grateful hearts become witnessing hearts.
KJV
1 O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;
CEV
BOOK V(Psalms 107–150)
1 Shout praises to the Lord! He is good to us, and his love never fails.
2 Everyone the Lord has rescued from trouble should praise him,
EGW Notes (Paraphrased)
Ellen White explains that Jesus saw value in one soul and patiently led the Samaritan woman to understand who He was.
After accepting Christ, she immediately became a missionary to her own people. Through her witness, many came to believe in Jesus.
God can use one transformed life to influence many others.
Conclusion
Those who have found Jesus have something worth sharing.
Reflection
Why did the Samaritan woman quickly return to the city?
How can your personal experience with Jesus encourage others?
THURSDAY – The Power of Testimony
Lesson
Not everyone is called to preach, teach, or travel to distant places. Yet every believer has a story to tell. A simple testimony about God's goodness can touch hearts in ways we may never realise.
The apostle Paul often shared how Jesus changed his life. His personal testimony became a powerful witness wherever he went.
Read Acts 26:9-23
KJV
9 I verily thought with myself, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.
10 Which thing I also did in Jerusalem: and many of the saints did I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, I gave my voice against them.
11 And I punished them oft in every synagogue, and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly mad against them, I persecuted them even unto strange cities.
12 Whereupon as I went to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests,
13 At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me.
14 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
15 And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.
16 But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;
17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,
18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
19 Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:
20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.
21 For these causes the Jews caught me in the temple, and went about to kill me.
22 Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:
23 That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.
CEV
9 I once thought that I should do everything I could to oppose Jesus from Nazareth.
10 I did this first in Jerusalem, and with the authority of the chief priests I put many of God's people in jail. I even voted for them to be killed.
11 I often had them punished in our synagogues, and I tried to make them give up their faith. In fact, I was so angry with them, that I went looking for them in foreign cities.
12 King Agrippa, one day I was on my way to Damascus with the authority and permission of the chief priests.
13 About noon I saw a light brighter than the sun. It flashed from heaven on me and on everyone traveling with me.
14 We all fell to the ground. Then I heard a voice say to me in Aramaic, “Saul, Saul, why are you so cruel to me? It's foolish to fight against me!”
15 “Who are you?” I asked. Then the Lord answered, “I am Jesus! I am the one you are so cruel to.
16 Now stand up. I have appeared to you, because I have chosen you to be my servant. You are to tell others what you have learned about me and what I will show you later.”
17 The Lord also said, “I will protect you from the Jews and from the Gentiles that I am sending you to.
18 I want you to open their eyes, so they will turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. Then their sins will be forgiven, and by faith in me they will become part of God's holy people.”
19 King Agrippa, I obeyed this vision from heaven.
20 First I preached to the people in Damascus, and then I went to Jerusalem and all over Judea. Finally, I went to the Gentiles and said, “Stop sinning and turn to God! Then prove what you have done by the way you live.”
21 That is why some men grabbed me in the temple and tried to kill me.
22 But all this time God has helped me, and I have preached both to the rich and to the poor. I have told them only what the prophets and Moses said would happen.
23 I told them how the Messiah would suffer and be the first to be raised from death, so he could bring light to his own people and to the Gentiles.

Paul recalls how he once opposed and persecuted Christians.
2. Jesus Meets Him on the Road – Acts 26:12-15
KJV
12 Whereupon as I went to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests,
13 At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me.

A bright light from heaven stops him and Jesus speaks to him personally.
3. Paul Receives a Mission – Acts 26:16-18
KJV
16 But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;
17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,

18 I want you to open their eyes, so they will turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. Then their sins will be forgiven, and by faith in me they will become part of God's holy people.”
Jesus appoints him to open people's eyes and lead them to salvation.
4. Paul Chooses to Obey – Acts 26:19
KJV
19 Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:
CEV
19 King Agrippa, I obeyed this vision from heaven.
He determines to follow the heavenly vision.
5. Paul Shares Christ Everywhere – Acts 26:20-23
KJV
20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

23 I told them how the Messiah would suffer and be the first to be raised from death, so he could bring light to his own people and to the Gentiles.
He preaches repentance and points people to Jesus and His resurrection.
Paul's witness centred on what Christ had done for him. His story became a testimony of grace and transformation.
God has given every believer experiences that can encourage others – Revelation 12:11
..Personal testimonies often reach hearts that arguments cannot.
KJV
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
CEV
11 “Our people defeated Satan because of the blood of the Lamb and the message of God. They were willing to give up their lives.
EGW Notes (Paraphrased)
Ellen White explains that those who know Christ personally have something valuable to share.
People may debate doctrines, but they are often touched by sincere testimonies of God's love and faithfulness.
God delights in using ordinary believers to accomplish extraordinary things.
Conclusion
A sincere testimony may become the means God uses to bless another soul.
Reflection
Why was Paul's testimony so powerful?
What blessings from God can you share with others?
FRIDAY – Further Thought
Lesson
Sharing Jesus is not limited to special programs or public meetings. God calls His people to be witnesses every day through words, actions, kindness, and love.
The most effective witness often comes through ordinary acts of service and Christlike character. As people see the peace, hope, and love that Jesus brings, they may be led to seek Him for themselves.
God does not ask us to convert people. He simply asks us to faithfully represent Him and leave the results in His hands – 1 Corinthians 3:6-7
..The Holy Spirit is the One who changes hearts.
KJV
6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
CEV
6 I planted the seeds, Apollos watered them, but God made them sprout and grow.
7 What matters isn't those who planted or watered, but God who made the plants grow.
EGW Notes (Paraphrased)
Ellen White explains that every believer is called to reflect the character of Christ.
As we walk with Jesus, His love naturally shines through our lives and influences those around us. Heaven works through humble, willing people who are surrendered to God.
Conclusion
God can use ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things when they are filled with His love.
Reflection
Why should we leave the results of witnessing to God?
How can you let your light shine in everyday life?
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
Why is witnessing a natural result of knowing Jesus?
How can a changed life become a witness for Christ?
Why is compassion important when sharing the gospel?
What role does personal testimony play in witnessing?
Why should we depend on the Holy Spirit when witnessing?
LESSON SUMMARY
Share Him
This week we learned that witnessing is the natural result of knowing Jesus. A transformed life, a compassionate spirit, and a personal testimony can all point others to Christ. Like the apostles, the healed demoniac, the Samaritan woman, and Paul, we are called to share what God has done for us. As we walk closely with Jesus, His love will overflow into the lives of others, and the Holy Spirit will use our influence to draw people to Him.
